Community Clinic Names New Director

The Ann Silverman clinic at Doylestown Hospital offers free medical and dental care for uninsured people in Central Bucks County.

The board of directors of the Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic has appointed Michael M. Ratajczak as the organization’s second executive director, effective July 2.

Ratajczak succeeds Peggy Dator, who served as executive director since 1996. Dator will remain on staff at the clinic through August to assist in the leadership transition.

“We are extremely grateful for Peggy Dator’s leadership and assistance in our succession planning as she makes plans for her retirement,” said Marv Woodall, chairman of the board. “Throughout the years, Peggy’s persistence and compassion – coupled with the generosity of hundreds of physicians, dentists, nurses, hygienists and lay volunteers – were critical to meeting the health care and dental needs of more than 10,000 patients in the Central Bucks community.”

Ratajczak was most recently executive director of Aldie Foundation, a position he held from 1989 until earlier this year. The Doylestown- and Langhorne-based Aldie Counseling Center provides drug and alcohol treatment.

“Mr. Ratajczak brings excellent skills to the Silverman Clinic at a critical time in our history,” Woodall said. “There are many uninsured in our community who still need quality health care, and national healthcare reform does not address dental health concerns. Mr. Ratajczak’s extensive business experience and background in social work will serve our organization and community well.”

Ratajczak holds a masters degree in business administration from Drexel University and a masters of social science from Bryn Mawr School of Social Work and Research, in addition to a bachelor’s degree in mental health technology from Hahnemann University.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic’s mission of service to the community, and to work with such a tremendously dedicated Board of Directors and staff of volunteers,” Ratajczak said.
