Contractor Wanted By Bucks Co. Police For Deceptive Business Practices

A warrant was issued following an investigation by the Central Bucks Regional Police Department that began in December.

DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA — An arrest warrant has been issued for Bernard Michael Kanuck, III, 40, of Franklinville, N.J., for deceptive business practices (F3), financial exploitation of an older adult (F3) and theft by unlawful taking (F3)

The warrant was issued following an investigation by the Central Bucks Regional Police Department in Doylestown that began in December in Doylestown Borough.

Police said business owner “A” contracted Kanuck, the owner of Alpha One Construction LLC, for concrete work on the sidewalk in front of the business. Kanuck started the job and has not returned, police said.

A subsequent investigation revealed that resident “B” on North Hamilton Street also contracted Kanuck paying him $2,100 for electrical work, police said. Kanuck ripped out the wiring and electrical box from the garage and never returned, said police.

Residents “C” and “D,” from North Main Street, also contracted Kanuck for sidewalk repair and paid him 50 percent of the total cost; the check was cashed the same day and Kanuck never returned, police said.
