Council Rock Schools Select Longtime Employee As New Superintendent
Longtime Council Rock School District employee Dr. Andrew J. Sanko will be the new superintendent, according to the Board.

NEWTOWN, PA — Longtime Council Rock School District employee Dr. Andrew J. Sanko will be the new superintendent, according to a news release from the Bucks County Intermediate Unit.
The Board of School Directors plans to formally name Sanko as the next superintendent in the next several days, according to a news release. The Bucks County Intermediate Unit did a national search for qualified candidates.
Sanko is currently the district's Director of K-12 Education and has worked as an elementary school teacher, principal, and administrator in the district.

"It is an honor and privilege to be a part of the Council Rock community and work on behalf of our treasured students," Sanko said in a news release. "My belief is that with a renewed commitment to trust, unity, and collaboration, Council Rock can continue to provide an unparalleled educational experience by keeping 'Students First. Always.'”
Ed Salamon, president of the Board of School Directors, said Sanko has been an "integral part" of Council Rock for decades.

"We believe Dr. Sanko's experience, leadership and student-first approach will help the Council Rock community move forward together to meet the challenges ahead and build on the strength of our district's educational excellence," Salamon said in a news release. "With Dr. Sanko's unparalleled commitment to our students, staff and community, the Board couldn't be prouder to announce his selection."
Sanko lives in Langhorne with his wife Sue and their three children, the news release said.
