County Theater Makes Fundraising Goal, Expansion To Start In 2019

The County Theater has reached its fundraising goal, and will receive a matching gift towards an expansion project to begin this year.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The County Theater has reached its year-end fundraising goal, and will receive a matching gift towards its major expansion project.

The theater, in an announcement made via Facebook live Monday, said it has exceeded its larger goal, and has raised a grand total of $2,286,783 for the expansion project.

In total, more than 1,000 individual gifts were made towards the expansion. The theater says the expansion will be its largest undertaking since opening in 1938. New features will include a third auditorium, as well as a new lobby, restrooms, box office and more.

The theater has held 20 public meetings, conducted online surveys, and talked extensively to members, neighbors and other borough stakeholders regarding the project. Click here to learn more about the expansion.

"We currently plan to break ground in late 2019 (fingers crossed)," the theater announced on its website.
