County Theater Now $10K Away From $500K Matching Gift

UPDATE: As of 10 a.m. Saturday, the County Theater needs to raise just $10,272 to receive the matching $500,000 gift. The deadline is Jan. 10.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The County Theatre is making an urgent push for support as just a week remains to raise the money needed to receive a $500,000 matching gift for its big expansion project.

The unidentified donor has offered the theater $500,000 — if it can raise $500,000 in matching funds. As of Thursday, the theater needs to raise $29,000 more to get the gift.

The donor has extended the deadline to reach the goal from Jan. 1 to Jan. 10, according to information from the theater.

"This is positively our last chance for the matching gift," the theater pleads on its website.

Those interested in helping the theater get to its goal by Jan. 10 can make a donation by going to the site.

The theater says its expansion project is its largest undertaking since opening in 1938. The expansion will include a third auditorium, as well as a new lobby, restrooms, box office and more. Click here to learn more.
