Cowhey Family ShopRite Of Warminster Donates $10,000
In Honor Of Warminster Food Bank's Grand Reopening
Cowhey Family ShopRite Supermarket of Warminster presented a check for $10,000 to Warminster Food Bank to help the organization purchase perishable items, meats, fruits, vegetables and other necessities for those in need.
With summer approaching, food insecurity rises, as schools are closed and children are not receiving meals at school. For struggling families, it means many having to make difficult choices between food and other necessities. The ShopRite donation will help to bridge the gap for these families at a time when it is most needed.
"When we donate to a local food bank, we do more than fill empty plates—we nourish hope, restore dignity, and stand beside our neighbors in their time of need,” said Deborah Cowhey, Owner/Operator, Cowhey Family ShopRite of Warminster. “Food security is not just about survival; it's about allowing every person the grace to thrive with dignity. In 2023, 13.5% of U.S. households—about 18 million—experienced food insecurity, including 6.5 million households with children. And if you or I ever face that same hardship, we’d hope someone would treat us with compassion, respect, and a helping hand. Let’s be that someone today."

“For those experiencing food insecurity, summer can be a season of worry. After paying the bills and other expenses, money left over for groceries may be limited, and there are extra meals to feed children who are out of school,” said Mike Cerino, Executive Director, Warminster Food Bank. “We are most grateful for the generosity of the Cowhey family for their generosity and support. Their donation will ease the burden for those in our community when they need it the most.”
