DAA Sports Teams Collecting Food And Clothing In Doylestown

All individual donations greater than 10 pounds will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win valuable prizes.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Doylestown Athletic Association's basketball and baseball programs are teaming up to hold a food and clothing drive on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lenape Middle School.

The public is being asked to help by bringing non-perishable items and clothing to the Lenape Middle School. A collection bin will be set up at the front door allowing for quick drive-by donations.

All individual donations greater than 10 pounds will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win four tickets to the March 8 Sixers game vs. New Orleans, a gift certificate for a free DAA intramural registration (use in any intramural sport), and a $25 Amazon Gift Card

Doylestown Food Drive Needs

  • Protein: Canned meats such as tuna, chicken, and salmon. Beans canned or dried. Split peas and lentils. Peanut butter.
  • Grains: Pasta, rice, or quinoa. Oatmeal or breakfast cereals (whole grain or low sugar).
  • Dairy: Shelf-stable milk, non-fat dried powder milk, or dry-grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Prepared Meals: Pasta sauces, hearty soups, stews, canned pasta, baked beans, or Mac & Cheese.
  • Fruits: Canned fruit in its juice or 100 percent fruit juice.
  • Vegetables: Especially carrots, potatoes, yams, or tomatoes.
  • Baking Goods: Cake mix, flour, or sugar.
  • Other Items: Olive oil, canola oil, broths, lemon juice, or vinegar. Spices such as pepper, cinnamon, oregano, parsley, or chili powder. Healthy snacks like nuts or crackers. Condiments, such as ketchup, mayo, or salad dressing.

What will be accepted: Adult and children's clothing, shoes, handbags, sandals, sneakers, boots, jackets, vests, coats, rain gear, belts, ties, pants, shirts, sweaters, vests, blouses, dresses, skirts, robes, undergarments, sheets, pillowcases, towels, linens, tablecloths, hats, scarves, gloves, purses, wallets, jewelry, watches, uniforms, jerseys, backpacks, and new diapers. The drive will also be accepting used baseball equipment (separate from the rest of your donations).
