Democrats, Republicans Win Municipal Races In Doylestown Area

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Democrats and Republicans posted wins on Tuesday in Doylestown area municipal races.

In one of the most watched municipal races, Democrats Judy Dixon and incumbent Jennifer Herring won election to the board of supervisors in Doylestown Township over their Republican challengers, Trish Murphy and Bob Caroselli.

Democrats also dominated the New Britain Township Board of Supervisors' race with voters electing Cynthia Jones and Bridget Kunakorn to two open, six year seats.

In Buckingham Township, incumbent Republican Jon Forest won his bid for re-election while over in Warrington Township voters split their tickets electing a Democrat and a Republican to the board of supervisors.

The closest race is playing out in Plumstead Township where 24 votes separates Democrat Matthew Given and his Republican opponent Lurleen Worthington.
