Bucks Democrats, Republicans Recommend Candidates For County Office

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Bucks County Democrats and Republicans have announced their endorsed and recommended candidates for county office in the upcoming 2023 election.

Looking to retain control of county government, the Democrats have endorsed incumbent Bucks County Commissioner Chairman Bob Harvie and incumbent Commissioner Diane Ellis-Marseglia for re-election.

In addition, they are supporting Eileen Albillar for clerk of courts, Patti Campi for coroner, incumbent Kris Ballerini for treasurer and incumbent Linda Bobrin for Register of Wills.

The party chose not to endorse incumbent coroner Meredith Buck, who took the county to court over the funding level of her office. She has announced her re-election bid and will face a primary race against Campi.

On the GOP side, following a series of countywide screenings, the Republican Executive Committee has announced its recommended candidates for Court of Common Pleas, county commissioner, Register of Wills, treasurer, clerk of courts, and coroner.

The party has endorsed District Attorney Matt Weintraub for judge on the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas. Weintraub, who has served as Bucks County’s DA since 2016, is seeking to replace Bucks County senior judge Diane Gibbons who is retiring.

The Republicans have also endorsed incumbent Republican Gene DiGirolamo of Bensalem and controller Pamela Van Blunk of Doylestown Township as its candidates for county commissioner.

In other endorsements, the GOP has picked Sherry Labs of Plumstead as its recommended candidate for county treasurer, Robyn Goodnoe of Richland Township for Register of Wills, Jeff Hall-Gale of Lower Makefield for clerk of courts and Charles “Chuck” Stockert of Hilltown for coroner.
