Dispute Over Restaurant Bill Ends With Citations: Plumstead Police

The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents between April 9 and April 14.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents between April 9 and April 14:

April 9

  • At 6:51 a.m. in the area of Old Easton Road officers investigated a suspicious person complaint. The complainant told police that they had witnessed an individual who appeared to be looking through mailboxes. Officers patrolled the area with negative results.

April 11

  • At 5:06 p.m., officers responded to Gloucester Drive for a theft report. The complainant told police that a $650 blower was missing from a trailer. The case is under investigation.

April 13

  • At 3:55 p.m., officers investigated a theft report. A resident told police that he sent $750 using cash-app to an unknown individual from a dating site. After numerous messages, the unknown individual requested additional funds and provided an address that was not legitimate. The complainant realized he was defrauded and filed a report.

April 14

  • At 12:46 p.m., officers received a tip that lawn equipment had been stolen. The officer contacted the complainant who told police that the equipment was stored in a facility on Ferry Road and had been removed. The value of the missing equipment was not known. The case is under investigation.
  • At 3:10 p.m., officers responded to Roseberry Drive for a domestic in progress. When the officers arrived, both parties had already been separated. A witness told police that she saw the two individuals fighting and one was holding a stick. When officers spoke to the parties separately, both told police that their dispute never turned physical and they agreed that there would not be any more problems.
  • At 3:41 p.m., officers responded to the Water Wheel Restaurant to investigate a report of disorderly conduct. When the officers arrived, they met with a complainant who told police that they had a party at the restaurant and when it came time to pay there was a verbal altercation on how the bill was going to be paid. When the party left, the complainant told police he followed them outside and took a photo of the vehicles so they could report it to the police. At that time, they were confronted by the party who started yelling and then pushed the complainant. Citations will be filed.
