Does This sound familiar, Don't be like Mike!

He hits his first shot and it goes way left - starting left and going farther left.

"Hmm, I must have come over the top of that one", Mike thinks.

Well, in fact, Mike DIDN'T come over the top (swinging left). He actually had a really neutral path, but because the FACE was closed, the ball started left and went farther left.

But Mike doesn't understand this.

So, instead, Mike tries swinging more to the right, to counter his non-existent "over-the-top" move that he thinks he has.

Now, for a few shots, this actually helps him, as swinging more to the right can drag the face in the same direction. So now his first few shots draw onto the target.

Success - or so he thinks!!!

But swinging more to the right with a closed face will actually create MORE of a hook/left pattern over time. Especially as he gets to the longer clubs.

And each time this happens, Mike swings more to the right.

Eventually, Mike's club path is 10 degrees in-to-out, and he's snap hooking everything. Not only that, but because Mike is swinging more to the right, the lowest-point of his swing has shifted backwards and now he's suffering with fat shots.

He also has a big two-way miss.

Now, Mike is a fictional character, but I've seen so many Mikes in my life that I thought I'd tell you this story.

If Mike had a better understanding of ball flight laws and knew to change the club-face first, he wouldn't have gotten himself into this mess.

This is why when you take lessons from Imagen Golf we:

• Learn to identify and read ball flight correctly
• Learn what you should change first at any one time
• Have drills that achieve that

Without the correct knowledge, you can end up in a situation like Mike (and lots of other golfers), where you practice more and actually get worse!
