Doylestown Airplane Crash Under Investigation By The NTSB
An initial finding shows that a Beechcraft experienced a departure stall while performing a go-around, left the runway, and struck a Cessna.
DOYLESTOWN, PA — The National Transportation Safety Board has launched an investigation into the crash of a single-engine airplane on Monday that injured several people at the Doylestown Airport.
An initial finding shows that at 12:21 p.m. a 1993 Beechcraft Bonanza A36 experienced a departure stall while performing a go-around. The plane then left the runway and struck an unoccupied Cessna 310 parked on the ramp.
There were three people on board the Beechcraft when the crash happened, according to the NTSB. They were taken to the hospital for evaluation, according to the Buckingham Township Police.

The Beechcraft is owned by Elbow Key LLC in Blue Bell. According to Flight Aware, the plane took off at 11:56 a.m. and landed 23 minutes later at 12:19 p.m. on Monday. It was last in the air on Nov. 11 for a flight from Reading to Doylestown.
Peter C. Knudson, an aviation expert with the NTSB, said the agency will focus its investigation on three primary areas: the pilot, the aircraft, and the operating environment.

The investigation will also include a comprehensive review of aircraft maintenance records, flight track data, air traffic control communications, aircraft maintenance records, and the pilot's license, ratings, and flight experience.
The NTSB is expected to issue a preliminary report in 30 days containing information collected on the scene, but will not include a cause, said Knudson. The probable cause for the accident will be included in a final report, which could take one to two years to complete, he said.
Witnesses to the accident or those who have surveillance video or other information that could be relevant to the investigation are asked to contact the NTSB at witness@ntsb.gov.
First responders were dispatched to the airport on Old Easton Road at approximately
12:21 p.m. for the report of a single-engine plane crash off the runway. Upon arrival, all occupants of the aircraft were out of the plane.
The Doylestown Fire Company and the Midway Fire Company responded to the crash along with the Central Bucks Emergency Medical Services and the Buckingham Township Police Department.
