Doylestown Area Fire Companies, EMS Units Awarded State Grants

The grants are offered annually for a wide variety of projects relating to equipment, training, debt reduction, and more.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Three Doylestown area fire companies and two ambulance squads have been awarded state grants through the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.

The Chalfont Chemical Fire Engine Company No. 1, Midway Volunteer Fire Company and the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company will each receive $15,000. Grants have also been awarded to the Central Bucks Ambulance & Rescue Unit, $6,088, and the Chalfont Emergency Medical Service, Inc., $10,0000.

The grants are offered annually for a wide variety of projects relating to equipment, training, debt reduction, and more.

“It is critical that we support our fire companies and EMS workers, who keep our loved ones safe every day by putting themselves on the front lines,” said State Senator Steve Santarsiero in announcing the grants. “Our communities are a safer and better place as a result of these brave men and women. This funding will help ensure that they have the resources they need to continue their vital work.”
