Central Bucks Lawmaker Votes To Increase PA's Minimum Wage
State Rep. Tim Brennan supports legislation that would boost Pennsylvania's minimum wage to $15 by 2026.

DOYLESTOWN, PA – State Rep. Tim Brennan (D-29) on Tuesday voted in favor of legislation that would boost the minimum wage in Pennsylvania from $7.25 to $11 by 2024 and eventually to $15 by 2026.
The bill passed the state House of Representatives 103-100. It now advances to the state Senate for consideration.
“I applaud the passage of a minimum wage increase for workers in Pennsylvania. It was my honor to vote to improve the lives of individuals and families across our state,” Brennan said. “This is an
important economic development bill, as it will stimulate our economy by increasing the purchasing power of consumers, and it gives hope to workers who have been struggling to make ends meet.”

H.B. 1500, sponsored by state Rep. Jason Dawkins, D-Phila., would increase the minimum wage in Pennsylvania to $15 per hour by 2026 and set the tipped wage to 60 percent of the minimum wage.
“It’s about time. No more games and no more waiting; the people of Pennsylvania deserve a minimum wage that is fair and competitive with our neighboring states. There’s still a lot of work to do, but I’m pleased with the direction we’re headed,” Dawkins said. “Raising the minimum wage will raise the wage of more than a million people in the commonwealth, improve people’s financial security and grow the state’s economy.”
