Doylestown Bike Trail to Receive $792K in Federal Funding
And in New Britain Borough, a path along South Tamendend Avenue will receive $150,000 in federal funding.

Two local projects aimed to improve transportation alternatives will receive federal funding, PennDOT announced Tuesday.
The projects, one in Doylestown Township and the other in New Britain Borough, are among 56 statewide that will receive millions in federal funds.
A bike and hiking trail along Lower State Road in Doylestown Township will receive more than $792,00 in federal funding. The trail goes from Central Bucks West High School to the Route 202 Parkway Trail, connecting Central Bucks Family YMCA, Central Park and Delaware Valley College, according to PennDOT.

In New Britain Borough, a shared-use path along South Tamendend Avenue between Butler Avenue and the SEPTA New Britain train station will receive $150,000 in federal funds.
The 56 projects in Pennsylvania that received a total of $33 million in federal funds are part of an effort to improve transportation alternatives and enhance pedestrian and bicycle access.

The projects were selected by PennDOT after an evaluation based on safety benefits, cost, readiness for implementation, statewide or regional significance and other factors.
