Doylestown Boro Asks Customers To Refrain From Unnecessary Water Usage

DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Doylestown Borough residents and business owners are being asked to refrain from all unnecessary water usage after the borough's water system experienced a mechanical failure on Saturday.

In a notice sent to borough residents and businesses, the borough's water department reported that on Saturday, its water system experienced a mechanical failure on a critical piece of infrastructure. "Currently, contractors are being mobilized to make the necessary repairs," the notice says.

"Combined with the ongoing repainting project of our Maplewood water tank, this mechanical failure may result in residents and businesses experiencing low water pressure and/or temporary loss of water," the water department reports.

The water department is requesting that residents and businesses voluntarily refrain from all unnecessary water usage.

"Please do not water your lawns, wash your vehicles, or fill swimming pools until further notice," the department says in its notice.

The borough anticipates the situation being resolved sometime Monday evening.
