Doylestown Food Co-op to Celebrate National Food Day Friday

The Doylestown Food Co-op will celebrate National Food Day with a special event Friday to focus on healthy eating on a budget.

Food Day is a nationwide celebration and movement for healthy, affordable and sustainable food, according to information from the Doylestown Food Co-op.

During Friday’s celebration, which will be held from noon to 7 p.m., there will be samples of locally-sourced food items fresh from the co-op, plus recipes and tips on how to eat healthy without breaking the bank.

“The Community Open House for our members and shoppers to sample many delicious homemade food items using local, affordable, and sustainable ingredients from the co-op. Recipes and cost of ingredients will be provided. Handouts on Eating Healthy on a Budget will be available,” according to information from Doylestown Food Co-op’s website.
