Doylestown Hospital Receives $250K Donation

Proceeds from Bucks County Designer House and Gardens event will go to support maternity care at the hospital.

A local organization has given more than $250,000 to support maternity care at Doylestown Hospital.

The Village Improvement Association of Doylestown presented the donation to the hospital during an event last week. The money was raised from the annual Bucks County Designer House and Gardens event, the VIA’s largest fundraiser.

The organization raised more than $311,000 during the 2014 Designer House event. Of that, $253,000 was given to the hospital. The remaining money went to support scholarships and maintain the James-Lorah Memorial Home.

The VIA has made a $1 million commitment to the hospital to help fund an expansion and renovation of its labor and delivery facilities. Money raised at the annual home and garden tour will go to support this pledge.

In 2014, Serendipity Farm in Doylestown was selected as the Bucks County Designer House & Gardens. The property, which is set on nine acres and features a renovated farmhouse, gardens and a pond, was open for tours as part of the fundraiser.
