Doylestown Kmart Survives Another Round Of Store Closures

Sears Holdings last week announced yet another round of store closings, and once again, the Doylestown store has been spared.

The once-iconic retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October but its struggles started long ago. According to USA Today, the latest round of closings include 29 Sears and 11 Kmarts. Four Pennsylvania stores are impacted. The paper reports that the stores will close in February.

When Sears filed for bankruptcy back in October, the retailer announced a list of 142 locations that would be closing by the end of the year. Of those 142, 13 are in Pennsylvania.

The latest Sears Holdings closures include Kmart stores in Philadelphia and North Versailles, as well as Sears stores in Reading / Wyomissing and Stroudsburg.
