Doylestown Man Charged With Assault, Defiant Trespass

He was also charged with disorderly conduct and harassment following a domestic incident at a North Broad Street apartment.

DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA — A 34-year-old Doylestown man was arrested on May 5 following a domestic incident at an apartment on North Broad Street in Doylestown Borough.

Central Bucks Regional Police said that Matthew William Smith, 34, had entered the victim’s apartment the previous night, pinned the victim to the ground and proceeded to hit the victim in the head several times.

Police said the victim fled the apartment returning the following day to find Smith still there. Police responded and took Smith into custody. He was charged with simple assault, defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Smith was arraigned, bail was set at $50,000 (10 percent) with conditions and he was remanded to Bucks County Prison.
