Doylestown Mayor Proclaims April 22 As Earth Day In The Borough
Special events and activities will be taking place at the Doylestown Farmer's Market on Saturday.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Doylestown Borough will celebrate Earth Day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. during Saturday's Farmers Market at 2-50 Hamilton Street.
BCS Compost of Warminster will be at the market with educational pieces about composting. FD Market CO, a sustainable goods shop and zero-waste refillery, will also be at the market with a large variety of sustainable home items including their refillary van with a variety of soaps to fill up any empty containers. And an Earth Day kids craft will be available at the green market tent.
During Monday's Borough Council meeting, Mayor Noni West proclaimed Saturday, April 22 as Earth Day in the Borough and encouraged residents to do "everything possible to reduce consumption of the Earth’s resources, fight climate change, support green economy initiatives, and encourage others to undertake similar actions.

"We all must be caretakers of our planet – our home – and we have an obligation to preserve the Earth’s beauty and resources for the benefit of its current and future inhabitants of all species," said the mayor. "It is necessary to maximize our efforts to combat climate change and environmental degradation.
"This year marks the 53rd anniversary of the Earth Day movement," the mayor continued. "Let it be known that Doylestown Borough asks all businesses, institutions, and individuals to celebrate the Earth and commit to caring for the planet, its inhabitants, and its resources."
