DOYLESTOWN, PA — Doylestown has made another list, this time as one of "9 Underrated U.S. Towns."

The list appears on theDiscoverer Blog, a Denver, Colorado-based website whose mission is to "inspire discovery." Its webpages are filled with unique places to visit across nation and around the world.

The listing says that Doylestown shares one thing in common with places like Livington, Montana; Damariscotta, Maine; Homer, Alaska; Ruidoso, New Mexico; Hood River, Oregon; Little Compton, Rhode Island; and Goldfield, Nevada.

"While they may not have the electrifying thrill of bigger cities, small towns are still ideal weekend getaways," says the blog. "Not only do they provide a dose of much-needed charm, but they’re often littered with eateries, watering holes, and local attractions that will keep you busy on a more laid-back itinerary."

So why did Doylestown make the list?

The site says that "although everyone flocks to New Hope for its eclectic and funky shops, the town of Doylestown goes unnoticed by many."

But it points out that Doylestown is "quaint, historic and thoroughly charming" and home to not one, but two "top-notch museums."
