Doylestown Pizzeria Ranked The Best In PA For Neopolitan Pies

DOYLESTOWN, PA — People in Doylestown already knew it was great. Now the state and the nation do.

The mouth-watering Neopolitan pie, whipped up at Spuntino Wood-Fired Pizzeria inside the Main Street Market Place in Doylestown Borough, is the best in the state, according to a ranking of pizzerias and pizza styles compiled by the Washington Post.

"According to @washingtonpost, Spuntino is serving the best pizza Napoletana in the state of Pennsylvania. We couldn’t agree more," the pizzeria wrote on its Facebook page.

In compiling the article, a team of reporters scoured through 7.5 million Yelp reviews and developed a formula to identify the best regional pizza styles in each state. They then ranked the top restaurants in each state selling those styles - New York, Chicago, Detroit, New Haven and Neapolitan-ish.

Spuntino is owned by Roberto Carollo who will be spending a very busy weekend serving his Neapolitan pies to the thousands who will be flocking to town for the Doylestown Arts Festival and the Bucks County Classic.

And no doubt he'll probably be extra busy with all the extra publicity generated by the Washington Post article.

Back in May, Carollo posted these words, which hold even more meaning today following the Washington Post ranking.
