Pride Festival Brings Block Party To The Streets of Doylestown
More than 30 vendors will line the street and there will be plenty of free entertainment to enjoy throughout the day.
DOYLESTOWN, PA —Doylestown’s Pride Festival is taking it to the street with a Festival Block Party on Saturday, June 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on E. State Street between Pine and Main Streets.
More than 30 vendors will line the street and there will be plenty of free entertainment throughout the day.
The vendor lineup includes the Rainbow Room (chalk painting at 12:15 p.m.), A Woman’s Place, Coexist Pride Faith Group, Wawa, Restore, The Learning Experience, Kids Peace, the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Center, Transminor Rights and The Council of Southeast Pennsylvania, Inc.

Also joining the vendor lineup will be the NAACP, the Doylestown School of Rock/Trash Culture, the Bucks LGBTQ Center, State Senator Steve Santarsiero, the PA Youth Congress, PFLAG - Bucks County, Delaware Valley University, the Michener Art Museum, the Ambler Counseling Center, GLSEN Bucks County, The Doylestown Democrats and NOVA.
The entertainment lineup features Lolly Hopwood & Drag Queen Storytime from 11:10 a.m. to 12:10 p.m., DJ Gavin from 12:10 to 12:25 p.m., a drag performance from 12:35 to 12:50 p.m., DJ Gavin from 12:50 to 1:05 p.m., the School of Rock from 1:15 to 1:55 p.m., DJ Gavin from 2 to 2:15 p.m., remarks by Doylestown Pride Festival organizers from 2:15to 2:30 p.m., a drag performance from 2:35 to 2:50 p.m., DJ Gavin from 2:50 to 3:15 p.m. and Solomon Temple from 4:15 to 5 p.m.

Other upcoming Pride events include a film screening of “Rocketman” on Sunday, June 19 beginning at 7 p.m. at the County Theater. The film tells the colorful life story of singer Elton John as told in the extraordinary, vibrant musical, “Rocketman.”
Taron Egerton gives a star-making performance as he portrays the singer through his most trying times and struggles with sobriety. The film is scored with the biggest hits throughout Elton John’s career and has all of the exuberant flair of a classic Hollywood musical.

Pride Month concludes with a Pride Shabbat service hosted by Temple Judea in Furlong on June 24 beginning at 7 p.m.
The service will be led by Dan Kahn, a song leader and soloist, and will feature a talk by congregant Seth Wohl who will share his experiences as a young Jewish gay man.
Kahn said that the service, Temple Judea’s second to mark Pride Month, is expected to be “a fun, camp-inspired one full of singing and music with a guitar just in time to start the summer. All are welcome to join the music, joy and spirit we’re going to create in this inclusive space together.”

The Doylestown Pride Festival celebrates diverse sexual orientations and gender identities in the Doylestown community with a variety of events, including special film screenings, a Queer Youth Art & Performance, a Pride Ride and a block party.
The festival is a collaborative effort between Doylestown Borough, Discover Doylestown, Delaware Valley University, A Woman’s Place, Michener Art Museum, The Rainbow Room, Salem United Church of Christ, Borough Council, and the Human Relations Commission.
