Doylestown, Other Pennsylvania Schools Ranked Among Best In State, Nation
Central Bucks West and East are ranked 12th and 19th in Pennsylvania.

Two of the state’s best high schools lie within Doylestown Township, according to a new study.
Central Bucks West and East were ranked 12th and 19th in Pennsylvania, respectively, in a new list released by U.S. News and World Report.
The annual rankings analyze four key metrics for each school: student-to-teacher ratio, average student proficiency in mathematics, average student proficiency in literature, and college readiness score.

The readiness score, which looks at a school’s AP exams and results, was a huge boost for Central Bucks West, which scored a very competitive 46.2 on the college readiness scale. Of the 51 percent of its students who took AP exams, 44 percent passed.
CB East, meanwhile, was buoyed by a 97-percent proficient score in literature, one of the highest tallies in the state.

The Doylestown duo, ranked 709 (West) and 907 (East) nationally, was compared to more than 21,000 other high schools from around the United States.
The top Bucks County school was New Hope-Solebury High School, which ranked second in the state and 210th nationally.
