Police Take Doylestown Teen Into Custody Over Pizzeria Assault

An 18-year-old who was involved in an aggravated assault on Sunday surrendered to the Central Bucks Regional Police on Monday.

DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA —A Doylestown teen wanted in a felony assault that took place at a New Britain Borough pizzeria Sunday afternoon turned himself into police on Monday.

Panajotis "Pano" Tafa, 18, of Doylestown, was being sought by police for aggravated assault, terrorist threats, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault and reckless endangerment.

According to the Central Bucks Regional Police Department, Tafa and a 16-year-old juvenile entered Deliza Pizza, located at 460 E. Butler Avenue, at about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 14. Police said the juvenile started an argument with an employee and walked behind the service counter where he punched the employee in the face.

Police said the employee pushed the juvenile to the ground at which time Tafa rushed over and pulled out a knife. A second person attempted to hold back Tafa from attacking the first victim when they suffered a laceration of the arm from the knife, police said.

A juvenile written allegation has been made against the juvenile, police said.
