Doylestown Teen Who 'Loved The Simple Things In Life' Dies At 19
Jacob Shotz loved the simple things in life; his music, his books, his art, singing, his obituary says. He died Nov. 14. He was 19.

Jacob Lyndon Shotz of Doylestown passed Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, peacefully at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia surrounded by his loved ones. He was 19.
He long suffered from severe epilepsy as part of a rare genetic condition, KCNB1. He was born Aug. 9, 1998, in Abington, the son of Howard and Gloria (Kramer) Shotz. He attended the HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy.

Jacob loved the simple things in life; his music, his books, his art, singing, Baby Beluga, bubbles and taking long walks with dad. He accepted everyone for who they were and touched the heart of everyone who knew him.
Jacob is survived by his parents, Howard and Gloria (Kramer) Shotz; brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Hui Laspee; his niece, Olivia Laspee; and his sister, Hali. He leaves his maternal grandparents, Fred and Brenda (Shapiro) Kramer. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jacob was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Sidney and Diana (Slomsky) Shotz, and nephew, Evan Laspee.

A celebration of Jacob’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at Goldstein’s Rosenberg’s Raphael-Sacks Suburban North, 310 Second Street Pike, Southampton PA 18966, with a reception at The Abramson Center for Jewish Life at 6 p.m.
