Candidates running in contested races in the May 16 primary election have been invited to provide background about themselves and their positions on the issues to voters in these profiles, which will run in Patch individually for each candidate.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Robert Caroselli is running as a Republican for Doylestown Township Supervisor in a three-way race for the party's nomination for two open seats on the board. Also running are Patricia "Trish" Murphy and Joe Van Houten.

Education: I began my higher level educational career with an associate's degree in criminal justice from the Community College of Philadelphia. I then continued my learning with a Bachelor's degree from Beaver College in Education. I obtained my Masters degree in computer science in education shortly thereafter, from Arcadia University. I then received an additional Masters degree in educational administration from Cheyney University.

1. Why are you running?

I am a retired principal from the School District of Philadelphia. I served the families and communities where I worked for 24 years. Now, I want to serve and protect the community where my family resides.

2. What are your top issues and how do you plan to address them?

Safety of our Residents: I will work hard to ensure police, fire, and operational resources are protected and enhanced. Fiscal Responsibility: I will ensure that transparency is evident with all decisions when it come to spending. Environmental Concerns: I will work with all board members and committees to protect every square inch of our township's natural resources.

3. What in your experience or background prepares you for election to office?

For the past 15 years I have been a school administrator. My responsibilities have included the safety of the school community, the operations of buildings, and the supervision of hundreds of staff members. Decisions needed to be made in the blink of an eye, as well as planning a year in advance in order to have the best learning experiences for students. My working experience aligns with all the responsibilities of a township manager. I plan on keeping our standards high by streamlining operations and improving the infrastructure of our town.
