Doylestown Township Moving Forward With $4M Roads Program

Supervisors vote to take out a loan with TD Bank to pay for much of the 2023 roads program.

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —Doylestown Township plans to spend up to $4 million this year
on its accelerated road repair and repaving program.

At its meeting in March, the board of supervisors voted to take out a 15 year loan for $3 million from TD Bank at an interest rate of 4.6 percent to pay for the work.

The township will also be using liquid fuels funds from the state along with tax revenue to pay for the balance of the project.

The supervisors also authorized its engineer to go out for bid on part one of the project, expected to cost $1.2 million and include 4.3 miles.

Part one will include the following roads:

  • Claremont Drive
  • Woodstone Drive
  • Dartmouth Drive
  • Brinker Drive
  • Quail Drive
  • Deerfield Lane
  • Mystic View Lane
  • Devon Lane
  • Ridings Lane
  • Longwood Circle

“We are a little light on part one because we don’t want to overspend,” said Director of Operations Dave Tomko. “As soon as part one gets wrapped up and we’ve know how much we have to spend we will put part two out for bid.

Part two includes an additional 11.98 miles for a total of about 16 miles. Part two is expected to include the following roadways:

  • Trafalgar Road
  • Cottonwood Drive
  • Autumn Leaf Drive
  • Stringer Drive
  • Bridal Drive
  • Saddle Drive
  • New Road
  • Iron Hill Road North
  • Iron Hill Road South
  • Fox Hill Road
  • Bella Circle
  • Willowbrook Drive
  • North Broad Street
  • Sterling Crest Court
  • Julie Lane
  • Tracey Drive
  • Fiaba Court
  • Ash Way
  • Buttonwood Lane
  • Sycamore Lane
  • Shady Grove Circle
  • Pine Valley Road
  • Pine Circle
  • Happ Drive

In addition, the program includes a list of alternate roads that could be included if there are funds available. If not they will be moved forward to the 2024 road program.

In 2022, the township paved and repaired 10.3 miles at a cost of $2.1 million.
