Doylestown USA250 Series Continues With Valley Forge Talk

Historian, guide, and Valley Forge National Historic Park site interpreter, presents "Valley Forge: A Winter of Fire and Resolve."

DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The Doylestown Historical Society and the Friends of Doylestown Library continue their USA250 lecture series with a deep dive into the historic Valley Forge Encampment during the American Revolution.

Historian Kenneth Gavin, a guide and Valley Forge National Historic Park site interpreter, will present "Valley Forge: A Winter of Fire and Resolve," on March 15, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Doylestown Borough Hall, 10 Doyle Street.

The presentation offers a unique opportunity for the community to gain deeper insight into the historic Valley Forge Encampment.

Ken is a seasoned professional with nearly 25 years of experience in the fields of history, public relations, and senior management in the non-profit sector. He has worked part-time at Valley Forge National Historical Park for the past 18 years, providing hundreds of tours for thousands of visitors. He also served as a key consultant and actor for Valley Forge’s recently launched orientation film, "Determined to Persevere."

Previously, Ken led tours in Gettysburg and Olde City Philadelphia in conjunction with Teaching American History Grant programs sponsored by the United States Department of Education. He also has more than two decades of experience with living history programs relative to the American Revolution and American Civil War eras, involving hundreds of events of that nature.
