New Britain Twp. Police: Intoxicated Man Arrested, DUI Charges Filed
Police also make retail theft arrest, track down hit-and-run driver, and arrest two on outstanding warrants.
NEW BRITAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — The New Britain Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between July 21 and July 25.
July 1
- Officers were on patrol in the area of Park Avenue and Main Street when they observed a man walking on the sidewalk who was known to have an active warrant. Police spoke with the man and the warrant was confirmed. The man was taken into custody without issue and remanded to the Bucks County Prison.
July 5

- The patrol division responded to a traffic accident at the intersection of West Butler Avenue and Skyline Drive. A vehicle struck another vehicle and then fled the area. Through an investigation, the vehicle was located and the operator was identified and charged.
July 20
- Patrol conducted a traffic stop on a driver in the area of New Galena and Barry Roads. The female driver was found to be impaired. She was taken into custody and charged with DUI.
July 21

- Police were dispatched to the Skyline Tavern at 241 West Butler Avenue for a patron refusing to leave. Police said the intoxicated man refused to leave when asked by staff and police and was subsequently arrested and charged.
July 23
- Officers were dispatched to the Wawa at 525 West Butler Avenue for the report of a retail theft. The offender was later identified and charged with retail theft.
July 25
- While on patrol, an officer observed a suspicious vehicle in Highlands Park at 1040 East Schoolhouse Road. Upon speaking with the driver it was determined he had an active warrant out of Schuylkill Haven Borough. The driver was taken into custody and was transferred into the custody of the Schuylkill Haven Borough Police Department.
During this tour the patrol unit handled 23 traffic accidents; 35 alarm calls; 49 medical
emergencies; and 393 crime and traffic accident prevention patrols. The unit also wrote 35 traffic citations and 97 traffic warnings.
In total, the department handled 344 calls for service.
