An electrical fire broke out Monday at the Bucks County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 53 in Buckingham and the building sustained “heavy damage,” according to officials. No one was injured.

Lodge President Daniel J. Doyle reported the news of the fire on the organization’s Facebook page. He said it was caused by a PECO power line. The Lodge is located on Mill Creek Road.

“Three other structures in our general area also sustained fire damage from this event,” Doyle said. He thanked firefighters for their efforts to put out the fire.

“We are sincerely grateful for all of the volunteer firefighters who braved the extreme weather conditions to respond in our time of need. These firefighters did not stop even when their trucks got stuck on ice! They hand carried equipment up to the lodge all the while working vigorously to get the trucks unstuck. The fire was eventually extinguished and we are thankful that no injuries occurred,” Doyle wrote on Facebook.

The lodge had been recently renovated. He said the lodge will be restored and reopened.

“We will pick up the pieces and continue to move forward by restoring our lodge back to the condition it was in when we reopened back in August,” Doyle said.
