Electrical Issues Close Holicong Middle School For Rest Of Year
Electrical issues have closed Central Bucks School District's Holicong Middle School for the rest of the school year.

Electrical issues have closed Central Bucks School District's Holicong Middle School for the rest of the school year, Superintendent John Kopicki announced Thursday.
Kopicki, in a letter to the school community, said the district was made aware of the possible electrical issues that day and "out of an abundance of caution" have decided to close the school for the duration of the year. The last day of school is June 18.
As a result, Holicong students have no school Friday, May 25.

School will resume on May 29; students will be going the high schools, according to the superintendent.
"We are working out details, but tentative plans are for bus transportation to remain the same, with students being shuttle bussed to the high schools," Kopicki said in his letter. Kopicki told the school community the district is "extremely sorry" for the disruption but pledged to work hard to ensure a "smooth and positive" completion to the year.

School officials say the issues were uncovered during the renovations at the school. As the final phase of the renovations was underway, problems such as lights flickering and exit signs burning out quickly were discovered. It was determined to be caused by electrical work in the original part of the school, which dates to the 1970s, Kopicki explained.
"Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to close this building to staff and students until those concerns can be completely and thoroughly addressed," Kopicki said.
Any parents of students at Holicong should watch for communication from the district regarding school schedules for the duration of the school year.
