Fall Festival Delights Pine Run Retirement Community

Residents and visitors enjoyed family fun and entertainment during event at local senior living community

Pine Run Retirement Community, one of Bucks County’s leading senior living and senior care providers, recently hosted its annual Fall Festival, bringing family fun and entertainment to residents and visitors alike.

Held Saturday, Oct. 5 on Pine Run’s 43-acre campus on Ferry Road in Doylestown Township, the annual event was organized and planned by the retirement community’s residents, including the Men's Club which directed traffic, and the Incredible Edible Bakers which tempted the crowds with homemade treats.

The Fall Festival offered something for everyone. Almost 30 Bucks County artisans displayed and sold their original designs and creations. Holiday shoppers discovered a wide range of gifts for sale, including hand-crafted jewelry, ornaments, soaps, custom handbags, doll clothes, home accessories and soft knit baby sweaters and baby blankets.

Children enjoyed free attractions, including face painting, pumpkin decorating, a petting zoo, and a photo booth. They especially gravitated to the Craft Barn to gather around the scenic model train village. Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts also helped festival-goers create small trimaran sailboats for tabletop races. Known as The Raingutter Regatta, this wind-powered Scouting activity brought a little spirited competition to the day.

"Community partners such as the Boy Scouts bring a younger generation and youthful ingenuity to Pine Run’s annual Fall Festival," said Rich Egan, chair of this year's event. “We are so thankful to have the support and participation of so many individuals and organizations. Together, we ensure that the tradition of this fun family event carries on.”
