Family of Eight Moves Into Habitat for Humanity Home in Morrisville

Community is invited to dedication on August 25

First-time homebuyers Tina and Bill, along with their five children (one of whom is in a wheelchair), and one grandchild are scheduled to move from a cramped Tullytown apartment to a new Habitat for Humanity home in Morrisville, after spending 300 hours of sweat equity building the house.

Life challenges in the past, including job loss and medical issues, had prevented Tina and Bill from owning their own home until now. Through the Habitat Bucks homeownership program, their newly constructed four-bedroom, two-bathroom Cape Cod home will provide much-needed accessibility for their son in a wheelchair, as well as room for the three generations of family that live together.

Habitat Bucks demolished the original structure at 428 Woodland Avenue because it was severely damaged by burst pipes. The new home was designed and constructed to be accessible to persons with disabilities, with a first floor bedroom that has an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant bathroom, and an exterior ramp at the rear of the home.

The community is invited to meet Tina and Bill and join local dignitaries for this special occasion. Local residents, civic groups and businesses interested in supporting Habitat’s mission to partner with low-income families to build safe, stable, and affordable housing in Bucks County are welcome to attend the dedication event.
