Barefoot Botanicals is a certified organic farm working to increase the health and biodiversity of the land they lease, which had bee a conventional sod farm for decades.

Through a combination of reduced tillage, increased perennial and cover crops, water management through the use of bio swales and ephemeral pools, combined with planting three acres of native woody corridors and warm season grass meadow, the farm has made it a primary goal to increase wildlife habitat.

The farm focuses on growing medicinal and aromatic herbs, including hemp. With its herbs, the Barefoot Botanicals team produces value-added products under the name “Bluestem Botanicals” offering cocktail ingredients such as botanical simple syrups and bitters as well as medicinal herbal extracts and tea blends-including a full line of Hemp (CBD and CBG) products.

During the tour, Barefoot Botanicals will have its herbal creations available for purchase. Customers can also shop for their products year round online, at area farmer’s markets and events, and at the Mercantile, 444 North Main Street, Doylestown.

While the tour is free, donations to offset the cost of BCFA’s programs are greatly appreciated.

Participants are asked to bring a covered dish to share (local foods encouraged), utensils, plates and cups, beverages, seating (chairs or picnic blanket) and come prepared to carry out their own trash. Chairs will be available at Gravity Hill.
