Fast-Acting Individuals Honored For Life Saving Actions In Warrington
Life saving certificates were presented to a dozen individuals who responded to a cardiac emergency in January at the Wegmans store.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A group of fast-acting individuals were recognized on Tuesday for saving the life of a Wegmans customer who suffered cardiac arrest in January at the store's pharmacy.
Members of the pharmacy staff and Warrington first responders were on hand to accept CPR Life Saving certificates for their role during the emergency, which unfolded on Jan. 17 at 2:47 p.m.
Warrington Police, EMS, and Fire were dispatched to the Wegmans store for a cardiac arrest. Upon police arrival, the individual was found to be in cardiac arrest and Wegmans pharmacy staff was preforming CPR and had used an AED to defibrillate the patient's heart.

The patient was in cardiac arrest for over 30 minutes and when EMS pulled into the hospital they
achieved ROSC (Return of Spontaneous Circulation).

The individual made a full recovery without any deficits and has returned to work, despite all of the odds.
"We truly believe this is due to the quick actions by the Wegmans staff, both of the Warrington Community Ambulance Corps Chiefs equipped with ALS gear and police arriving on location within seconds to minutes of the dispatch, and the exceptional ACLS care provided by medic 129 and rescue 78," said Warrington Police Chief Daniel Friel.
Among those being honored were Warrington Police Officers James Umile and Officer Ryan
Light.
