DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office is investigating the death of an 83- year-old Doylestown man who was struck by a Bucks County Transit bus in the parking lot of Grundy Hall in August.

According to the coroner’s office, Ronald Davenport died from multiple blunt force injuries caused by the accident. He was 83 years old.
Davenport's family has retained Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky to represent the Estate of Ronald J. Davenport, according to the law firm.
“This family lost Ron suddenly and needlessly,” said the firm's founder Robert J. Mongeluzzi. “We are honored to stand with the Davenport family and to get the answers this family deserves.”
Mr. Davenport built a successful career in sales before retiring. In retirement, he spent time with his family and grandchildren and was active in his congregation and the community it served. He is survived by his wife, four adult children, and their families.
The Davenport family remembers Ron for the love and dedication he showed them, and for the many lives he touched, said the family's lawyers.
Attorney David Kwass said the firm has already gathered information about other Bucks County Transit bus collisions involving pedestrians, and about the design and layout of the area where Mr. Davenport was killed.
“Our investigation has already revealed that the bus driver, after running over Mr. Davenport, moved impact evidence at the accident scene and then fled,” said Kwass.
The family is asking anyone with information about the August 12 collision, or about Bucks County Transport buses at Grundy Hall, to contact counsel, David L. Kwass, Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky, at 215.575.2978 or by emailing dkwass@smbb.com.
