"Finest House In Doylestown" To Open For Holiday Tours
Ten exhibition areas will be on view inside the house, each decorated for an unforgettable Victorian Christmas experience.

DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Christmas has arrived at the James-Lorah Memorial Home, "the Finest House in the Borough,” built by Henry Mercer's grandfather in 1844.
Visitors to the historic mansion this holiday season will be able to visit more than ten exhibition areas within the house, each decorated for an unforgettable Victorian Christmas experience.
Along the way they will learn about Victorian holiday customs and see period fashions once worn by the women who lived in the home.

Public tours are scheduled for Sunday, December 8 and Saturday, December 14 at 1 p.m. Tickets, which must be reserved in advance, are priced at $15 and are available by clicking here.
December 8 tours are sold out. Tickets are still available for the Dec. 14 event. The deadline to purchase tickets is Dec. 8.

The James-Lorah Memorial Home and Museum, in the heart of Doylestown Borough, is the headquarters of the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown, a historic women’s organization founded in 1895.
Birthplace of Henry Mercer and the legacy of VIA Charter Member Sarah M. James, the stately Victorian townhome, containing the furnishings and personal effects of the James family, is open for tours and events by reservation.
