Fire Rips Through Barn In Buckingham Township

When Lingohocken's Chief 35 arrived on the scene, he reported a 20-by-40-foot barn fully involved with multiple exposures.

BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — Fire ripped through a barn Wednesday evening in the Forest Grove section of Buckingham Township.

Firefighters from the Lingohocken Fire Company responded to the scene just before 7 p.m. for the report of an out-of-control brush fire in the area of Lower Mountain and Forest Grove roads. Three minutes later, the assignment was upgraded after additional calls were received reporting a barn fire.

When Lingohocken's Chief 35 arrived on the scene, he reported a 20-by-40-foot barn fully involved with multiple exposures. He established command on Lower Mountain Road.

Engine 35, Engine 95, and Tower 35 arrived and immediately went into service with multiple hand lines.

Lingohocken was aided by mutual aid companies from Midway, Doylestown Fire Company No. 1 and Newtown Fire and Rescue. Also responding to the scene were the Buckingham Township Police and Central Bucks Emergency Medical Services.

The firefighters quickly placed the fire under control but remained on the scene for several hours hitting hot spots and conducting cleanup operations.
