Firearms Violations, Domestic Incidents Reported In New Britain Township

Police respond to calls for service, including traffic accidents, medical emergencies, and ongoing investigations into criminal activity.

NEW BRITAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — The New Britain Township Police Department responded to the following incidents between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28. During this period, officers responded to 45 traffic accidents, 39 alarm calls, 96 medical emergencies, and 31 abandoned 911 calls.

On Jan. 9, the department received an investigation request from the Pennsylvania State Police regarding a denied firearms transaction at Target World. The investigation found that an individual knowingly provided false information on ATF and state firearms transaction forms. The individual was charged with related offenses.

Another firearms transaction investigation, also requested by the Pennsylvania State Police on Feb. 9, involved a denied purchase at Target World, located at County Line and West Butler Avenue. An individual was identified for knowingly falsifying information on ATF and state transaction forms and was charged accordingly.

On Feb. 6, officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of Pueblo Road. An individual attempting to leave the scene was stopped by responding officers and arrested on assault charges. Police also responded to a disturbance on Queens Circle on Feb. 8, where a man was identified and cited for harassment.

Retail theft incidents were also reported. On Feb. 13, Wawa workers contacted New Britain Township Police to report that a group of juveniles stole alcohol from a shelf. The case remains under investigation. On Feb. 23, an officer at the Wawa located at 525 West Butler Avenue observed a juvenile male take merchandise and exit the store without payment. The juvenile was identified and referred to the Youth Aid Program.

Officers were dispatched to the CVS at 298 West Butler Avenue on Feb. 22 for a well-being check. Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim with injuries from a domestic assault. The victim was transported to Doylestown Hospital for treatment. An individual was identified, located, and arrested in connection with the incident.
