Fires Heavily Damages Two Buildings In Warrington Township

Bucks and Montgomery county firefighters battled two building fires over a 24 hour period on Monday and Tuesday.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Firefighters battled two building fires over a 24 hour period on Monday and Tuesday.

The first alarm sounded on Monday at 7:10 p.m. for a fire on Blackhorse Drive.

When crews arrived, they reported fire showing. Engine 29 established a water supply and quickly extinguished the fire on the exterior, fire officials said. The fire was contained to the exterior of the dwelling with no extension inside.

On Tuesday at 1:21 a.m., the fire company responded, along with mutual aid companies, to the 1300 block of Lisa Drive for the report of a building fire.

When firefighters arrived on the scene they reported fire showing from a two-story, middle of the row apartment.

Engine 29 established a water supply and led off with a 200 foot hand line. The crew made an aggressive interior attack, quickly knocking the bulk of the visible fire on the first floor, fire officials said.

When Rescue 29 and Engine 78 arrived, they pulled a back-up line and completed primary and secondary searches, officials said.

Mutual aid companies assisted with ventilation, checking exposures for extension and performing overhaul operations. The fire was placed under control at 2:22 a.m.

According to reports, a man suffered minor burns during Tuesday's apartment fire. There were no other reported injuries as a result of the two fires.

The Warrington Township Fire Marshal’s office is currently investigating the cause of both fires.

Responding to the fires were the Warrington Township Emergency Services, Warrington Community Ambulance Corps, Doylestown Fire Company No. 1, Warminster Fire Department, Hartsville Fire Company, Horsham Fire Company, Warwick Township Fire Company No. 1, Chalfont Fire Company and the Fire Department of Montgomery Township.
