DOYLESTOWN, PA — A new state-of-the-art way to play, practice, and socialize around golf is teeing off in Doylestown.

On Saturday, Jan. 24 longtime Bucks County hospitality leader Matt George officially opened the first-ever Golf Envy location in Doylestown, bringing a premium indoor golf simulator club to the community.

“We’re excited to introduce ourselves to the community,” said George, who is no stranger to the Bucks County hospitality scene, having owned and operated the nearby Plumsteadville Inn for the past five years. “The space offers a modern, social take on the game, creating a year-round destination for practice, competition, and connection.”

The Doylestown club, located at Bailey's Square at Swamp and Ferry roads, is Golf Envy’s second franchise location in the United States and its first on the East Coast. The business is based in California.

The 3,000-square-foot-facility opens with four golf bays with plans for a fifth combining cutting-edge technology with a relaxed, county club-style atmosphere designed for golfers of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned players.

Golf Envy, which will operate as a private club and have 24-hour access, uses Golfzon TwoVision technology, which George said is very new to the United States and was created by the man who invented golf simulators.

In addition to offering play at more than 300 courses around the world, its simulators are equipped with mechanical floor plates that shift, providing a very real fairway experience for the golfer.

The bays also boast a variety of hitting surfaces, allowing players to hit out of the fairway, the rough, and the bunker.

The bays are also self-teeing, meaning that every time a player hits a ball, another ball pops up automatically eliminating the need to chase the ball and providing nonstop play.

“The technology is incredible,” said George. “You can’t match the experience on any other simulator. We are the newest and best out there."

The simulators also provide a ton of stats and videos, adds George, including swing speed, accuracy, angle, weight distribution, and more, all of which is sent to the player’s profile, which is available on an app that provides golfers with all their personal information - right in the palm of their hand.

“We’re looking to show everybody that indoor golf can mimic outdoor golf and that we have something different that can really help improve your game,” he said.

George brings decades of hospitality experience to the new venture. As the owner of Plumsteadville Inn, he helped lead its reopening in 2012 and has owned and operated the business for the past five years. A lifelong golfer and former high school golf team member, George founded the Doylestown Golf Envy franchise to merge his passion for the game with a guest-first hospitality approach.

“Golf Envy was created to give people a place to connect, unwind, and enjoy the game in a way that feels welcoming and accessible year-round,” said George. “Doylestown has such a strong sense of community, and I wanted to build a space where golfers of all levels can come together, have fun, and feel at home.”

Indoor Golf Growing In Popularity

According to George, Golf Envy reflects the growing popularity of indoor golf and social golf clubs nationwide, offering a weather-proof, accessible, and community-driven way to enjoy the sport year-round.

“We’re looking for founding members to help set the tone. We already have a good start and we’re looking to grow our membership,” said George.

“With the opening, we will start doing leagues and tournaments. We’re first going to give ourselves a few weeks to get acclimated. We have a lot of new members coming in. We want to make sure everything goes well with them before we launch our leagues.”
