First Ever Bucks County Spa And Salon Month To Benefit Cancer Patients

Top spas, salons and med-spas join forces to help local Bucks County cancer patients through unique program.

BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The first ever Bucks County Spa and Salon Self-Care Month will make its debut May 6 and will run for one-month through June 6 benefiting the Kin Wellness and Support Center.

With the slogan, "Care For Yourself, Help Others," people from throughout the community are encouraged to book their appointments at participating spas, med-spas and salons with a percentage of their treatment proceeds going to Kin, which will use the funding to benefit local cancer patients and their caregivers.

Taking place during Mother’s Day, family members are also encouraged to book an appointment for their moms so her treatment can benefit someone local battling cancer.

“Launching a new initiative of this scope is always a daunting task," said Keith Fenimore, the executive director of Kin. "We just came off a very successful Be Kind 5k and 1 mile Fun Run event that had more than 500 participants. We are eager to harness our momentum and community engagement into premiering the 1st Annual Bucks County Spa and Salon Self Care Month.

"We love finding clever was to work with local business to create footfall for their businesses, while fulfilling our needs to raise funds for Kin so we can continue to care for local Bucks County cancer patients and their caregivers free of charge,” he added.

Bucks County Spa and Salon Self-Care Month has attracted top salons, spas and med-spas from across Bucks County. More than 40 businesses have signed up from towns throughout the county. Select locations will also host special events, raffles and collection jars creating multiple ways for people to give.

Kin provides free holistic care for more than 275 local cancer patients and their caregivers from Bucks County. Based in Buckingham Township, Kin operates out of a 5,000 square foot, all-inclusive facility and is 100 percent funded through donations and community support.

The Bucks County Spa and Salon Self-Care Month has a dedicated webpage at www.welcometokin.org where participating locations are listed with a hyper-link to their business so people can easily contact and book an appointment. As a visual indicator, all participating locations will have a decal displayed in their window.
