Foodshed Alliance Hosting Fall Benefit

The event will be held this Sunday at Hortulus Farm in Wrightstown.

The Bucks County Foodshed Alliance is hosting a Fall Garden Benefit at Hortulus Farm this Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.

The Foodshed Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering and expanding the local food supply. It also is organizing a tour of Castle Valley Mill in Doylestown Township on Wednesday, Oct. 3.

Sunday's event will feature wine and light fare from local producers. There will be a talk on vegetable gardening as well as a self-guided tour of the grounds. Attendees can also view the owners’ collection of Bucks County impressionist paintings.

Hortulus Farm is a preserved 100-acre farm in Wrightstown that dates back to a land grant from William Penn's in 1697. It is home to the nonprofit Hortulus Farm Foundation and the historic Isaiah Warner House. It features two classic dairy barns and 30 acres of world-class gardens designed and implemented by horticulturists Renny Reynolds and Jack Staub.

Hortulus Farm is located at 60 Thompson Mill Rd. in Wrightstown.

Tickets for BCFA Fall Garden Benefit are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. To purchase tickets, visit bcfa.eventbrite.com or stop by the Wrightstown Farmers Market on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., held next to the Wrightstown Township Municipal Building, 2203 2nd Street Pike.

The Fall Garden Benefit will be held rain or shine. Hortulus Farm is not wheelchair accessible.
