Forecast Forces Postponement Of Doylestown's Pride Fest Block Party

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Due to a threat of rainy weather on Saturday, organizers have postponed this year's Doylestown Pride Festival Block Party to Saturday, July 1 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Festival organizers announced the postponement in a Facebook posting on Wednesday.

The Block Party, to be held on East State Street between Pine and Main Streets, will feature more than 28 vendors, including a mix of businesses, service, and nonprofit groups and organizations.

The event is free and open to the public.

The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with music by DJ Gavin followed at 12 p.m. by the dedication of a Pride Crosswalk at the intersection of Printer's Alley and East State Street.

The Progress Flag crosswalk in Doylestown Borough will be dedicated during the block party.

The entertainment continues with a drag performance from 12:20 to 12:35 p.m., DJ Gavin from 12:30 to 1 p.m., Jenny Lee Stern from 1:05 to 1:35 p.m., DJ Gavin from 2:05 to 2:30 p.m., a drag performance from 2:235 to 2:50 p.m., Dina Hall from 3 to 4 p.m. and DJ Gavin from 4:05 to 5 p.m.

The vendor lineup for the day includes: Renewal By Anderson, the Doylestown Borough Human Relations Commission, State Rep. Tim Brennan and State Senator Steve Santarsiero; BC Cares; PFLAG Bucks County; Rainbow Room; ROYGBIV Flags; Bubble Braid Boutique; Visit Bucks County; the Michener Art Museum; Ambler Counseling; South Main Tattoo & Piercing; A Woman's Place; NOVA; Trans Minors Rights; Bead Mama; Bucks LGBTQ Center; Made in Morrisville; KidsPeace; Delaware Valley University; Coexist Pride Faith Group; Coexist Pride Faith Group; CBSD Neighbors United; Human Rights Campaign; Restore; and the Doylestown School of Rock.

The Doyletown Pride Festival is a multi-day event featuring a series of film screenings, drag brunch, Pride Block Party, Music Day, and various pop-up events and celebrations throughout the community. It was started by a group of local organizations and businesses that came together with the goal of celebrating diverse sexual orientations and gender identities in the Doylestown community.
