Former TJ Smith's General Manager Opens Own Restaurant

The former general manager at TJ Smith in Warrington and brother of the owner has opened his own restaurant. Details:

The former general manager at TJ Smith's in Warrington and brother of the owner has opened his own restaurant in Newtown. The Greystone Fine Food and Spirits is located at 552 Washington Crossing Rd, at the property formerly known as Lavender Hall or 552 Restaurant.

The new establishment is owned by Brandon Smith, brother of TJ Smith's owner Michael Smith.

The Greystone is welcoming guests for a soft opening event Wednesday. During the soft opening, there will be no reservations and it will be walk-in only. Dinner begins at 4 p.m. The official grand opening is set for Thursday, April 12.

Smith, who purchased the property last summer, has redesigned the interior of the building to give it a modern look that maintains the historic charm.

The menu focuses on modern American comfort food, with appetizers, salads, pizzas, sandwiches, soups, and entrees among the offerings.

Here is a sneak peek of some of the menu offerings:

  • Short rib pizza (Brie, ricotta, caramelized onions, sweet potato)
  • Thai chicken salad (Romaine, red peppers, cucumber, peanuts, crispy straws, edamame, spicy peanut dressing)
  • Mac and cheese burger (Angus beef, jalapeno bacon, brioche bun)
  • Slow cooker roast pork sandwich (broccoli rabe, sharp provolone, Italian long hot peppers, onion poppy seed brioche)
  • Vegan stir fry (Glass noodles, edamame, roasted red and green peppers tofu sesame seeds, black garlic teriyaki glaze)
  • Pesto pecan scallops (grits, shaved parmesan)

Here are the restaurant hours:

Brunch will be served Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 3 pm, and Saturday/Sunday from 9 am to 3 pm. Dinner hours will be Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 10 pm, Friday/Saturday from 4 to 11 pm and Sunday from 4 to 9 pm. The restaurant will be closed on Mondays. The bar will stay open until 12 am Tuesday through Thursday, until 2 a.m. on Friday/Saturday, and until 10 p.m. on Sunday.
