Fraud Reports, Domestic Dispute Lead Plumstead Police Report
Woman purchases tickets for a play through Facebook, but never receives the tickets.
PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents between Feb. 19 and 24:
February 19
- At 11:20 a.m., officers spoke to a resident in regard to a fraud complaint. The complainant stated that he paid a contractor more than $700 to install two windows. After the time frame when the windows should have been installed, the complainant tried contacting the contractor on different occasions but was unsuccessful. The case is under investigation.
February 22

- At 4 p.m., a Plumstead woman called the station to file a fraud report. The woman told police that an unknown person accessed her bank account and transferred $3,800 in funds to PayPal cards. The woman reported the fraud to her bank and they were able to provide a refund. The woman was provided with a victim’s right packet.
February 23
- At 8:50 p.m., officers responded to the Colonial Village Motel for a verbal dispute. When the officers arrived they met with the complainant who said that she and a friend got into an argument and it escalated to him threatening her life. The suspect left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival. Officers filed an arrest warrant for the known suspect.
February 24

- At 8:14 a.m., officers received a phone call for a fraud report. The complainant stated that she bought tickets for a play from a Facebook group. After sending payment through Venmo the complainant never received the tickets and was blocked by the other party. The officers provided the complainant a victim’s right packet. This is still an active investigation.
