Fraud, Retail Theft, Road Rage Incident Reported By Plumstead Police

Police also took a driver into custody on an outstanding bench warrant and filed charges against another driver for suspected marijuana.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Nov. 2 to 12:

November 2

  • At 9 a.m., officers received a complaint for a road rage incident in the area of North Easton Road. The complainant said that a company truck was driving erratically and debris from the truck was hitting her vehicle. Officers attempted to make contact with the trucking company following the incident.

  • At 9:33 a.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with a suspended registration. Upon speaking with the vehicle's driver, it was discovered that the driver had an active bench warrant for his arrest with the Bucks County Sheriff's Office. Jeff Gillespi, 44, of Huntingdon Valley, was taken into custody, transported and released to the Bucks County Sheriff's Department.

November 11

  • At 5:45 p.m., a Plumstead Township resident reported a fraud that previously occurred. The complainant related that she sent $5000 to a person of interest using purchased gift cards and bitcoin transactions. The victim was provided a victim rights packet and is working with the department’s Victim Services Unit. The incident is under investigation.

November 12

  • At 9:18 p.m., officers responded to the area of Easton Road for a report of a vehicle traveling in the wrong lane of traffic. The vehicle was found in the parking lot of WAWA. Upon speaking with the the driver, the officer detected the odor of burnt marijuana. The driver handed over drug paraphernalia along with suspected marijuana. Charges were filed.
  • At 10:54 p.m., officers responded to the Giant for a retail theft that occurred on Nov. 6 at around 7:51 p.m. A man entered the Giant Food Store at 4377 Swamp Road in Plumstead Township. He then used the self-checkout lane, but was not scanning multiple grocery items including three cases of Red Bull. He then proceeded to exit the store without paying for the items. The man left in a SEPTA bus. Anyone with information as to the identity of the man is asked to contact the Plumstead Township Police Department at (215) 766-8741, ext 127.
