French-Inspired Bistro Celebrates First Anniversary In Buckingham

BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Aurora Bistro at the Buckingham Green Shopping Center is celebrating its first anniversary this weekend and preparing for Mother's Day with a special menu.

Owner Dawn McDonald will be offering free iced coffee and iced tea to everyone who stops by the bistro on Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5. And the first 25 customers on both days will receive a gift with the purchase of an entree.

The French-inspired cafe, located on Route 202 across from Holcong Park, offers a variety of pastries including croissants, sweet and savory galettes, and assorted European-style cookies and desserts. For breakfast and brunch, the bistro serves classic French entrees such as Croque Monsieur, Brioche French toast, and quiches, along with daily specials featuring soup, salad, quiche, or sandwiches.

Aurora is also known for its coffee selection. Sourced from vendors committed to sustainable farming practices, the cafe's coffee beans are free from synthetic pesticides. Offerings include Au Lait and Espresso beverages served with dairy or plant-based milk alternatives. Additionally, the bistro serves an array of organic teas, including Chai and Chai Tea lattes.

The bistro is open from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday and is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

For Mother's Day, the bistro offers a "to go" and "dine in" menu. The "to go" menu is designed for anyone who is not interested in cooking and wants to stay home with friends and family. The bistro offers takeout containers for coffee and tea that yield 96 ounces. and pastries and breakfast sandwiches, as well. And, the bistro can accommodate any person with gluten sensitivity.

The bistro also offers gift card options and drinkware for mom including tea and coffee mugs, travel mugs, and sports bottles and baseball caps. Anyone who purchases a gift card and drinkware item or sports cap will receive a $5 discount off their merchandise.
